Trail Maintenance:
Nittany Mountain Biking Association and Mt. Nittany Wheelworks

NMBA and Mt. Nittany Wheelworks sponsor trail maintenance events on numerous trails in the area. The effort keeps existing trails open and in good shape as well as developing new trails. Although primary aimed at mountain biking, these trails are also used by hikers as well.

The efforts have been going on for several years. Last year, 740 hours of time were donated. Some of the maintenance that has been done previously has been documented on the NMBA website. Current information on scheduled trail maintenance can be found at Mt. Nittany Wheelworks.

The Jaycees help out by donating time and labor to the efforts.

The construction crew pose after hard work on a new switchback (May 4). Over 25 people showed up that day, putting in a total of 120 hours of work on the Tussey Mountain Trail Extension.

On May 18th, 13 volunteers showed up for the final day of "roughing in" the Tussey Mountain Trail Extension. Although the weather didn't look good early on, the rain held off and the second switchback and last sections that required bench cutting were completed. The trail is now rideable.
